The Power of Habit - Change Tip 5

Happy Friday! I hope it's been a good first full week back for many of you.

I wanted to share a great book this week, which will benefit many of you at the start of 2020 to support the changes you may be starting or wanting to make professionally and personally.

When we want to start/stop/change things in order to achieve our goals, developing habits that drive productive and positive behaviour is key for us. Starting, developing, committing and embedding positive habits enable us change, develop, grow and achieve. We also know that it takes time, patience, resilience, willpower and support from others to help us stick to new habits. On a personal note, I am 10 days into dry January coupled with meat-free January.

I have done dry January now for 3 years (it's become a yearly habit)! The meat-free part is tough as it's not something I have done before so I am having to consciously think a lot more about it.

'The Power of Habit' by Charles Duhigg helps us to understand what habits are (and their properties), how to stop or change unhelpful habits and how to create helpful and positive ones. It's a super read and I highly recommend it.

"Willpower is the single most important keystone habit for individual success.”
