A Fresh Perspective

Happy Friday!

This picture was taken last week, when as a family we embarked on a hot air balloon adventure. The shadow of the balloon is us over the beautiful Warwickshire countryside! I've thought a lot about the experience since and also about perspective.

Much of the time we can feel immersed in the day-to-day; running from task to task, solving problems, making decisions, juggling work and life but our growth and learning often comes from changing perspectives, stepping back, pausing, reflecting and focusing ON as opposed to IN.

Imagine stepping into a hot air balloon, as you rise above the landscape, things that may have weighed heavily on your mind as you started or ended your day can start to fit into a bigger picture. You can see the paths, patterns, possibilities and opportunities that weren't visible from the ground where you were immersed in overload, issues, obstacles and decisions.

When we were up in the air the only sound I could hear were the lambs, it was one of the most beautiful and most present experiences I have ever had. It helped me to truly appreciate our beautiful planet and to feel grateful for all we have. It has also helped me to gain perspective on so many things since.

Today I encourage you to lift yourself above the day-to-day doing, if only for 10 minutes and ask yourself:

✔️What is really important?

✔️Where am I making progress?

✔️What am I missing because I'm too close to it?

A little altitude can afford a lot of clarity!

Huge thanks to Phil’s wonderful colleagues and friends at Quilter Cheviot for this amazing experience. 💚

Have a super weekend ahead.
