Be Present

Happy Friday!
I've had a number of discussions with my clients since the start of this year about the importance of being present and focusing our attention in the present. At times this can be easier said than done, however when we challenge ourselves to do it we can achieve just some of the following:
⭐️ Shift from just focusing on our future goals or past failures (learns) to present
progress
⭐️ Boost our motivation
⭐️ Acknowledge and celebrate our small wins
⭐️ Create clarity
⭐️ Gain a greater sense of control
⭐️ Focus on what we've achieved as opposed to what we have not
⭐️ Sustain our attention on one task as opposed to many
⭐️ Get unstuck
⭐️ Immerse ourselves and enjoy the task we are undertaking
Here are 2 quick tips to help you do this today....
✔️ DO JUST ONE THING FULLY
Drink coffee/tea → feel the cup, taste it, enjoy it!
Walk outside → notice your footsteps, air, sounds, colours
Talk → actively listen without planning any reply
✔️ CREATE A BOUNDARY
Remove distraction before you start
Move your phone to another room
Close down computer tabs
Turn off notifications
Set yourself a timer to achieve your first step
(For example ‘I have 15 minutes to explore options for the title of this project and come up with 3 titles’).
Next week, I’ll share more about a favourite technique of mine to help sharpen focus in a simple, productive and energising way.
Have a great weekend ahead!
