Happy Friday!
I wanted to share this brilliant Liz and Mollie visual today, which I have shared with many of my clients recently.
I often speak to my clients about the need for flexibility and adaptability when working towards goals and desired outcomes as well as the importance of being realistic that growth and progress has its ups and downs and highs and lows - which is where resilience and grit comes in.
Reflect back on a goal or result you have achieved which meant a huge amount to you professionally or personally (or both) – ask yourself ‘Was my progress towards it always heading up or was it up and down at points and what did I learn from the ups and downs?
Here are 5 key tips to remember when you want to grow and develop...
⭐️ Learn from setbacks - view mistakes as lessons. Each challenge offers valuable
insights for improvement. Over my life so far, many of my greatest learns have
come from experiences when things did not go according to plan!
⭐️ Think long-term - focus on overall growth, not short-term setbacks. Progress isn’t
always linear.
⭐️ Track internal growth - measure your 'internal development'. Review and reflect
what you have learnt and reflect on your emotions and feelings regularly -
capture what you learn about yourself along the way.
⭐️ Celebrate small wins - acknowledge small successes to stay motivated and
recognise your ongoing progress. Celebrate your small wins and reward
yourself too.
⭐️ Be patient and kind to yourself - growth takes time so practice self-compassion
during tough times to build your resilience.
Have a great weekend ahead and remember....
‘Growth is not a perfectly linear process’. That's what makes it exciting and worth it!
