Laughter and Leadership

I listened to this enlightening TED talk earlier this week titled 'Why Leaders take humour seriously'.

It's well worth a watch and I loved some of the snippets I took from it. My favourites being 'laughter shortens the path to connection' and how we can move to become 'less transactional and more human with each other'.

Based on the course they teach at Stanford's Graduate School of Business, behavioural scientist Jennifer Aaker and corporate strategist Naomi Bagdonas discuss the surprising power of humour exploring how and why it builds bonds, trust, creativity and resilience - and how we can all have more of it.

Let's face it, I think we could all do with a little more laughter and humour especially in January! I hope you enjoy it and take something away to help you and others. It also helped me to reflect on the importance of who you surround yourself with in life and in work. Some of my best days are when I engage with others who make me really laugh and smile!
