The Importance of WHY

Further to my recent post on purpose and the importance of WHY, I have been reflecting this week on the importance of your clients and colleagues understanding HOW you work and how you are to work with.

I received two client recommendations this week and some of the words they used to describe me hit home….

• Committed

• Strategic

• Passionate

• Positive

It’s a great exercise to get both colleagues and clients to describe how you are to work with – it will be one of the core reasons clients choose you and it will tell you what colleagues feel and think about you too.

Here are 5 key questions that can help you do this to understand HOW you impact others

1. What is it like to work with me on a day-to-day basis?

2. Describe my core attributes

3. Which of my attributes would you like to see more of and why?

4. When I am at my best, how am I to work with?

5. Which 10 words would you use to describe how it feels to work with me?

It’s also a great opportunity to gain feedback on areas to develop and improve.
