I've been looking forward to this book coming out for a long time, having pre-ordered it months ago. It's fair to say I have experienced some big feelings this week as my daughter finished primary school yesterday. 😭 It's been a week of high emotions and pretty big feelings! Whilst I am very happy and excited for her, I've also experienced strong feelings of uncertainty, apprehension and fear as she embarks on her next chapter where she will start as a tiny fish in a much bigger pond, when she starts secondary school.
I am a big fan of Fosslien and Duffy and have started reading the chapter on uncertainty which is apt right now.
Big Feelings focuses on the feelings of uncertainty, comparison, anger, burnout, perfectionism, despair and regret - it helps us to use tools to understand what's really going on for us when we experience them and how we can manage them more effectively. I will do a full book review when I've finished. It's also full of their brilliantly clever illustrations which help bring these feelings to life visually too. Given some of these big feelings feature heavily in the work I do with my clients, I am looking forward to sharing my insights from this book with them too.
Have a great weekend ahead.
