Change Conservers, Pragmatists and Originators

Happy Friday!

I attended a CSI 2 workshop this week with Psysoft (who I qualified with as an EQ-i and EQ-i 360 practitioner). I’m delighted to now add the Change Style Indicator 2 to my toolkit, to support teams and individuals.

CSI 2 can be used in a range of change situations (and also works well alongside DISC, EQ-i and MBTI). Here are just some of its applications...

💡Designing and planning change strategies

💡Enhancing both the employee and client experience during transformations

(mergers and acquisitions)

💡Empowering team development and project onboarding success

💡Decision making and collaboration with cross functional teams

💡Building self-awareness and emotional insight during change

💡Conflict management leading up to/during and after change

The CSI 2 assesses how people prefer to approach change. Through a simple on-line assessment it places individuals on a continuum, ranging from a preference for gradual to radical change, and identifies three change styles. There are no better or worse, right or wrong, or any superiority among the Change Styles, they all offer value and benefit in differing ways.

Here is an overview of each of the three styles:

🔄Conserver

Conserver-oriented individuals prefer stability and tend to prefer gradual and incremental change. They value tradition, consistency and predictability, and they aim to improve effectiveness by efficiently using existing resources, people, technology and knowledge.

⚖️ Pragmatist

Pragmatist-oriented individuals are practical and flexible in their approach to change and prefer change that is functional. They focus on what works best for a given situation and are willing to adapt their methods to achieve desired outcomes.

✳️Originator

Originator-oriented individuals are creative and innovative in their approach to change and prefer change that is fast and radical. They enjoy exploring new ideas and possibilities, often challenging the status quo, and finding novel solutions.

My own change style is Pragmatist with an originator orientation! ⚖️✳️.

My assessment results were extremely accurate and gave me a great insight into not only my orientation but also strategies and ideas to develop my approach to change and how I can work more effectively with conservers and originators. It also aligns so well to my Change Curve in Reality tool.

If you are an individual / team approaching or navigating change and want to explore more about how CSI 2 and Arch inspire can help you or your team, I'd love to chat with you so please do reach out.

Have a super weekend ahead.
