Living and Breathing Core Values

Happy Friday, 


I've reflected closely this week on how my core values underpin everything I do. This week I delivered the final module of the Leadership and Development Programme at Chesterton House Financial Planning Ltd.  It’s been an absolute joy to design, deliver and facilitate this programme to the second cohort (The Class of 22) over the last 2.5 years. 


The key objectives of the programme were as follows:


'To provide a foundation for all managers, equipped with consistent knowledge, tools and skills to lead and manage successfully'.


'To embed the unified and consistent delivery of leadership, management and development support for individuals and teams across all areas of the business'. (Financial Planning, Legal and Accountancy)'.


'To build leaders for the business with the ability to inspire, engage and develop teams and individuals to achieve the ultimate goal of helping all clients to achieve financial freedom'.


The programme has covered the following 12 modules with individual coaching sessions between each of the modules. 


  • Our Vision and Values as Leaders and Managers

  • Developing our Culture as Leaders and Managers

  • An introduction to Myers Briggs

  • Management and Leadership Skills - Part I

  • The Power of MBTI as Leaders and Managers

  • Key Management and Leadership Skills - Part II

  • Key Coaching Skills

  • Accountability and Responsibility as Leaders

  • Supporting and Leveraging Performance and Development Opportunities as Leaders and Managers

  • Coaching as Leaders

  • Managing and Leading Proactive and Imposed Change

  • Our Personal, Team and Business Effectiveness and Programme Review


During this time I’ve seen the group grow their skills, knowledge and confidence immeasurably. I have seen them develop the most wonderful culture of deep trust, vulnerability and shared purpose.  I have seen them live and breathe their team charter that they built together at the start 1000%! 


Working with Chesterton House over the last 4 years has been my absolute privilege and joy.  They take their professional and personal development seriously, they invest in it and commit to it to the point where they now have a highly successful CPD in-house programme and a brilliant Managers Hub to support everyone in their business.  This is a testament to their hard work and commitment to keep learning and developing. 


I cannot thank everyone I want to personally here but I want to mention the following Dawn Hubbard – you are an absolute dream to work with. Richard Urwin and Andy Jervis for trusting me. Julie Moretta and Jenny Jervis ACIM Ba(Hons) and to all the Leaders and Managers who were part of the first programme.
